On Tuesday, October 5, 2010, the Halifax County Fair will open with five days of special events celebrating its 100th Anniversary. This year's Fair event will showcase a retrospective of an annual tradition that began with the vision and work of Mr. W. W. Wilkins, Sr. and a group of community business leaders.  The Halifax County Fair, that began on lower Main Street in South Boston in 1910, continues to unite us as a community through agriculture, rides, food, music and memories. www.halifaxcountyfair.com
